SUN BOWL ASSOCIATION INSTALLS NEW PRESIDENT AND HONORS VOLUNTEERS

EL PASO, Texas – The Sun Bowl Association hosted a new president and board of directors installation, along with honoring volunteers at Western Playland on Sunday, June 1, 2025, announcing Tamara Gladkowski as the new President for 2025.

Tamara (Tami) Gladkowski is Senior Vice President & Senior Fiduciary Officer at WestStar Wealth Management, a subsidiary of WestStar Bank, specializing in providing trust, estate administration, and investment advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and institutions located in and around the El Paso region. Prior to joining WestStar in 2001, Tami was Senior Vice President with JPMorgan Chase.

Over the course of her career, she has been an active member of various industry-related organizations. Tami is a current member and past president of the El Paso Estate Planning Counsel, past member of the Texas Bankers Association’s (TBA) Wealth Management & Trust Advisory Council and spent several years participating in the TBA estate administration task force collaborating with professionals across the state of Texas to coordinate annual training seminars for Texas trust officers. In 2019, Mayor Dee Margo appointed Tami as a Trustee of the City of El Paso Employees Retirement Trust, where she served for a two-year term.

“After a very successful 2024 Sun Bowl season, we are looking forward to another banner year with Tami leading the charge as president of the Sun Bowl Association,” said Sun Bowl Association Executive Director Bernie Olivas. “I am looking forward to working with her and the board of directors to continue to bring quality events to our community, culminating with the 92nd Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl.”

Tami has enjoyed giving back to her community by serving on several philanthropic and community advisory boards to include the Salvation Army of El Paso, Rotary Club of El Paso, UTEP’s College of Business Advisory Council & President’s Athletic Council, and volunteering with the WestStar Don Haskins Sun Bowl Basketball Invitational over the last 15 years. Tami is a proud fourth-generation El Pasoan and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Texas at El Paso. “I am so very thankful for this opportunity to serve an amazing organization committed to the promotion of our beautiful Sun City. I look forward to working with the Board and staff to ensure the continued success and longevity of the annual Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl game and all other Sun Bowl events,” said the new president of the Sun Bowl Association.

The 2025-2026 Board of Directors includes: Jimmy Rogers Jr. (deceased), Tami Gladkowski, Richard Dayoub, Brooke Underwood, Michael Guerra, Tony Valtier, Greg Groves, Beau Bagley, Scott Mann, Wayne Thronton, Amber Herrera, Barry Kobren, Eric Swanson, Linda Smith, John Folmer, Mark Pelletier, Jim Lawrence, Pat Valdez-Rios, Allen Rystad, Steve Anderson, Amen Ayoub, Patsy Achim, Annai Escobedo, Michelle Kaip, Victor Salazar, Jim Senter, Rebekah Wierson, and Carrie Reyes.

The ceremony included the Sun Bowl Association honoring and thanking volunteers, as well as presenting plaques to various award winners.
