Team Selection Process

The Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl is in the final year of six-year contracts with the ACC and the Pac-12 conferences. The current selection order for each conference is:

ACC Selections Order

The ACC and its bowl partners will select teams based on several factors, including avoiding repeat appearances and matchups, regular-season win-loss records, and geographic proximity.

Pac-12 Selections Order

Due to the reshaping of the Pac-12 conference membership during the final two years of the current bowl partnerships, all stakeholders agreed that the former Pac-12 programs, referred to as “Pac-12 legacy schools,” along with Oregon State and Washington State, would continue to participate in Pac-12 bowl games until the new bowl contracts commence in 2026.
