Yuky Macias, daughter of Octavio and Emma Macias, is a Senior at The University of Texas at El Paso, where she is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. She graduated from the Young Women’s Leadership Academy, where she was a member of the National Technical Honor Society and received the Terry Scholarship.
At UTEP, Yuky is currently serving as President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and is a member of the Society of Professional Hispanic Engineers. Additionally, she was a member of the Engineering Student Leadership Council. Yuky is currently in her fourth year volunteering right here with the Sun Bowl Association, where she serves as the 3D Printing Chair, overseeing the design and fabrication of custom 3D-printed components for parade floats in the Glasheen, Valles & Inderman Injury Lawyers Sun Bowl Parade. In 2025, she was recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the Sun Bowl Parade Committee.
As Sun Princess, Yuky will continue building the relationships, memories, and family atmosphere she has already found with the Sun Bowl Association. She intends to strive to make a positive impact on those around her to properly represent the organization that has played an important role in her life.
