Jamie Shelley, daughter of Adam and Priscilla Shelley, is a Junior at The University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in Biological Sciences with a Biomedical Concentration. She graduated from Franklin High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and earned three varsity letters in volleyball. During that time, she received awards such as All-District Team and Academy Volleyball Team. She received the First Light Community Foundation Scholarship for 2022-2023 and made the Dean’s List for 2022-2024.
At UTEP, Jamie is an active member of the Pre-Dental Society, participating in mentoring sessions, oral health events, and workshops to gain more knowledge for dental school. Over the past year, she has worked with different dentists in the city at local practices.
Jamie is an advocate for Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) research and has donated to The Children’s Heart Foundation. She is also heavily involved in El Paso’s volleyball community as an assistant coach in competitive volleyball clubs.
Jamie states that being a Sun Princess will enable her to serve her community better and inspire young women while representing the city of El Paso.
