Isabella “Izzy” Dickey, daughter of John and Debbie Dickey, is a Junior at Texas Tech University majoring in Nutritional Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. She graduated from Franklin High School, where she served as Parliamentarian of the National Honor Society and was recognized as a First Team 6A Libero in volleyball. She graduated in the top five percent of her class and is now pursuing her undergraduate degree in Lubbock, Texas.
Isabella serves as Chapter President of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and previously held the position of Vice President of Philanthropy, organizing fundraising and volunteer events benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest. This effort helped earn her chapter the Group Volunteerism Award of the Year. In addition to her sorority involvement, Isabella is a member of JoyCentric, an organization that supports oncology patients through monthly hospital visits and care packages. She also serves as an undergraduate researcher in the Metabolic Health and Muscle Physiology Labs, where she helps study the effects of stressors and substance use on metabolic function during exercise. As an aspiring veterinarian, she is a member of Texas Tech’s Pre-Veterinary Society, where she participates in practice labs and volunteers at local shelters. She has spent several summers working with Empowering Hands, a nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities. During her time in high school, Isabella volunteered with the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home and organized food and book drives through Key Club.
Isabella looks forward to stepping out of her comfort zone and representing El Paso in a tradition that showcases the community’s strength and culture.
