Ayla Apodaca, daughter of Robert and Diana Apodaca, is a sophomore at The University of Texas at El Paso, where she is pursuing a degree in nursing. Ayla graduated from Franklin High School, where she completed the school’s P-TECH program and was a member of the National Honor Society.
While volunteering at animal shelters, Ayla enjoys caring for dogs by providing them with attention and exercise as they wait for their forever homes. She enjoys assisting animals and volunteering with fellow students. This passion carries over into her career choice in nursing, which gives her the opportunity to care for others during important moments in their lives. These qualities strengthen her desire to serve the community both within and beyond healthcare.
As Sun Princess, Ayla brings enthusiasm, dedication, and genuine passion for service by proudly representing El Paso. She looks forward to serving as a role model for others and showing how El Paso can leave an imprint on them, just as it has for her.
