Ali Lopez, daughter of Damian and Verenice Lopez, is a sophomore at the University of Kansas, where she is pursuing a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Educational Studies. Ali graduated from Franklin High School, where she was the Community Service Chair and the Student Body President in the Student Council.
At Kansas, Ali served in the Student Community Action Corps with the Center for Service Learning, where she managed volunteer initiatives to connect students with meaningful civic opportunities. Additionally, she served as the Public Relations Coordinator for The Big Event, KU’s largest day of student-run service. Outside of school, Ali ran El Paso Youth for Change under the El Paso Community Foundation, assisting disadvantaged communities.
As Sun Princess, Ali plans to advocate for the city that raised her. She is ready to serve as a passionate ambassador for the Sun Bowl and the El Paso community.
