Aida Gallegos, daughter of Michael Jurado and Brenda Gonzalez, is a sophomore at Sam Houston State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.
Community service plays a significant role in Aida’s life. She has volunteered at UTEP concessions, where she learned to thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with a team. As a basketball coach for elementary and middle school students, she teaches them confidence and teamwork while creating a supportive environment. Each year, Aida helps organize a Thanksgiving basket drive that raises funds and provides food to families in need. Additionally, she volunteers at an animal shelter, where she cares for animals.
As Sun Princess, Aida is willing to step up as a leader and make a positive impact in everything she does. Representing El Paso with integrity, respect, and pride while continuing to serve and uplift those around her is her mission during her time on the court.
