Valeria Del Villar, a born and raised El Pasoan, is the daughter of Javier Villar and Maria Verdier-Del Villar.
As a registered nurse, Valeria has given back to the El Paso Community through her time and passion to help others. Valeria was recognized as one of the 16 nurses named nurse of the year in 2020, a year of increased stress and hardships brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic.
A graduate of Socorro’s class of 2017, Valeria also belongs to the 2020 graduating class of the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, but her work isn’t done yet. Valeria is currently enrolled in UTEP’s school of nursing graduate program for nursing administration and management.
During her time working towards her bachelor’s degree, Valeria spent her downtime with fellow members of the zeta tau alpha sorority as the director of academic achievement and as the Director of Activities. These positions helped Valeria keep the high standards of great academic standings and community involvement with the chapter’s work to increase awareness for breast cancer. Valeria also spent several hours volunteering at the humane society and participating in donation drives while working towards her degree.
Valeria believes that being a Sun Princess would help her utilize her passion for serving her community and all the people in it. “I want to inspire young women to complete their goals and make their dreams come true,” Valeria said.
